Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce is proud to provide special recognition to the ChescoWest small business community each February by presenting the Western Chester County Small Business of the Year Award.
Presented at WCCCC’s Annual Member Extravaganza, hosted by Coatesville Country Club, the award recognizes one exceptional small business owner for his or her tireless work and embodiment of the spirit of enterprise in western Chester County.
The Chamber was ecstatic to announce that the 2026 Small Business of the Year is The Golf Zone Family Fun Center.
The Golf Zone opened in 2000, after which it was purchased by Steve DiMarco. Eight years later, Harry Hammond became partner, becoming a full time in 2022. The family fun center was added about four years ago, remaining true to the game of golf while inviting families, children, and beginner golfers in.
After a devastating fire in December 2023, The Golf Zone quickly gained support from surrounding communities and formulated a plan to rebuild the business. “Our goal is to not only build back all of the same great things you know and love by golf season, but to add even more features and technology,” The Golf Zone said via social media after the fire.
Although tragic, the fire changed the vision for the business. The fire destroyed everything, giving the team the chance to assess what needed to change. Since even the parts of the property that weren’t touched by fire were still too damaged to salvage, The Golf Zone started from scratch.
When they rebuilt, they did it better. Now a one-story building, The Golf Zone offers a full-service bar and restaurant in the clubhouse. They partnered with VK Brewing to bring Fairway Taphouse to The Golf Zone, featuring menu items such as bacon wrapped shrimp, BBQ chicken flatbread, and Italian roast pork sandwich.
As far as other expansions went, one of the hitting wings was covered for rain and other unappealing weather. Next to the hitting wing, a new teaching center was added, as well as a Par 3 course on the lawn.
You can still expect to see mini golf, go-karts, and experience the newly added duckpin bowling.
“The Golf Zone is working to become the go-to spot for learning the game of golf in our area.” said Jessica Rigo, general manager.
With their passion for the game of golf and adaptability in stressful circumstances, The Golf Zone Family Fun Center is bigger and better than ever before.
The 2026 Small Business of the Year will be celebrated at Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce’s Member Extravaganza on February 10, 2026 at the Coatesville Country Club.
