This year, I was honored to serve as President of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce for the third time. As I conclude my term, I do so with a deep sense of gratitude and pride in what we have accomplished together. Since first joining the Board in 1999, I have had the privilege of watching our Chamber grow and thrive far beyond what I could have imagined. This past year was defined by thoughtful planning, meaningful connection, and a continued commitment to supporting the businesses and communities that make our region thrive.
As we continue to Praise the Past and Forge the Future, one of our most significant achievements this year was the completion of a new three-year Strategic Plan. This plan will serve as a roadmap for the Chamber’s future, ensuring we remain responsive, relevant, and focused on delivering value to our members while positioning Western Chester County for long-term success.
We also celebrated the businesses and individuals driving innovation and leadership in our region. This year, we proudly awarded our first Rising Star Award, recognizing an exceptional young professional who represents the next generation of business leadership. We issued our first Small Business Growth Grant to help a local business take its next step forward, reinforcing our commitment to small business success. Additionally, we honored outstanding local contributions through our Small Business of the Year Award, Corporate Citizenship Recognition, the Joseph G. Filoromo Community Award, and the Elliott R. Jones Award—each highlighting the positive impact businesses have beyond their bottom line.
Connection and collaboration remained at the heart of our work. In 2025, the Chamber hosted 24 events that brought our members together, welcoming more than 1,315 attendees. These opportunities would not have been possible without the dedication of 71 volunteers who served on our committees and helped shape programs that truly reflect our members’ needs.
We also strengthened our role as an advocate for business. Throughout the year, the Chamber provided platforms for members to voice their concerns directly to policymakers and worked to ensure business interests were represented at the local and regional levels. Our 11 municipal forums further supported collaboration among municipalities, fostering multi-municipal partnerships to address shared regional challenges.
Telling our members’ stories and marketing our region as a great place to do business remains a priority. We were proud to kick off our new print directory, Discover Western Chester County, showcasing the businesses and assets that define our community. Additionally, through 36 Checks In episodes and ongoing features across our marketing platforms, we highlighted member achievements, strengthened visibility, and created new opportunities for connection and growth.
None of this work happens in isolation. I am incredibly thankful to our Board of Directors, hard-working volunteers, dedicated staff, and members whose engagement and commitment fuel the Chamber’s success. It has been an honor to serve alongside such passionate leaders.
As I pass along my duties, I do so with confidence in the Chamber’s direction and optimism for what lies ahead. Thank you for the privilege of serving as your President and for your continued investment in the future of Western Chester County.
My sincere regards,
John H. Lymberis
