The updates given by the Borough of Modena at the 2023 Municipal Update were:
- This year’s Modena Haunt event was successful.
- The Modena Duck Race event is coming up.
- CRP – two grants that allow for the reconstruction and remodeling on Woodland Avenue and for a storm water management system.
- Working with Cleveland-Cliffs, who are donating land for a 5-acre park along with the borrow to restore a historic home.
- Union Street – Warehouse sold earlier this year. Looking for a beer garden to come in!
- Condemned homes are starting to be rehabbed.
- FEMA – $2.7 million for a tear down of 10 row homes and to re-build an apartment complex.
- EST tax, which supports the fire department.
- LSA Grant – for the fire house and a new tanker truck.
